Builds ten exciting motorised racing cars! All materials, components and full instructions included. Make, modify and race these racers for an exciting lesson while investigating key topics in the curriculum. Simple to set up pulley drive system. Ideal for STEM and STEaM workshops!
What is the project about?
Discover that a pully-drive can transmit force. You can have great fun to modify, test and race! In this project pupils can investigate key topics in the science, design & technology, engineering, art and maths curriculum’s. Pupils will develop dexterity and leadership skills whilst assembling this project. The successful assembly will see students explore energy, forces and simple mechanic motions.
This is a flat pack project. You will receive the content for 10 exciting motorized race cars which you will need to build and then race. All materials, components and assembly instructions are included. You will receive prewired and insulated motors along with battery safety instructions for teachers and pupils.
How does the project fit in with STEM?
Understanding the types of materials used in the construction.
Using existing knowledge of magnetism and understanding how motors work.
Describe the forces being applied on the vehicle and the transfer for energy.
Provides an opportunity to develop children’s ability to understand technological advances by modifying the vehicle.
Understanding the functionalities of the electronic components.
Assembly of kit will develop good dexterity skills.
Following an assembly manual and video.
Ability to calculate speed in (m/s), distance (m) and time (s).
Ability to acceleration of the vehicle.
